super dad!!!!!

my husband is a SUPER DAD! he is simply amazing!

to start with..............
Josh is a SUPER DAD! My van is in the shop (for the damage to the back), and Josh needed eggs to make a cake for Luke....... so he rode his bike to the "Gowen General Store" only to have to ride back carrying the eggs in his hand because he lost his Meijer baggie from his pocket (G.G. Store only does paper). He has successfully made Luke's cake

then tonight..............

he took the boys on a date while i worked on homework. he didn't tell them where they were going--but started by picking them up for school, then took them to home depot and buffalo wild wings before SURPISE taking them to see the griffin's play hockey!!!!

the second surprise was a zamboni ride!!!!!! my super amazing hubby won a ticket on twitter for a zamboni ride!!!!

grippy socks, skunks and squirrels

I can't help but post the things Luke says............. because I CANNOT make this stuff up!

--"Mom do you know why I am wearing my grippy socks today? Because you never know when a dance party might start!"

--"Oh MY GOSH MOM--THERE'S A SKUNK OUTSIDE!" after I check and find it is a SQUIRREL "Well few but you know squirrels are dangerous because if you have nuts they will steal them"

no one puts baby in the corner!

TWICE!

luke didn't just make it ONCE around the mountain bike trail--he made it twice! it was his very first time! the loop was 1.3 miles and even at the "beginner" level, it had some tight squeezes. luke walked up hills but overall did an amazing job! remember, he is JUST FIVE :) (6 soon)! we are so proud of our lukers!!!

out of the mouths.........

out of the mouths of babes.........
Quote of the day from Luke... Justin Bieber sure is lucky he's famous because he is a terrible singer

go luke go!!!!!

our boy lukers is taking off with his reading and math!!!! WOOT WOOT!

when he was assessed around Christmas time, he was at an A (lowest is pre-A). i was a bit disappointed but not worried as i knew luke had it in him to grow and become a great reader. a bit later he was assessed (february?) he improved to a b but i felt he was more a c. well he was assessed early this week and he came out a c. his super amazing wonderful teacher felt it was not a valid assessment so she assessed again and he came out a d! WAY to GO! kindergartners are expected to be a c when they are done in K. i cannot wait to see how much he grows this summer while home with mama!

in the area of math, luke is starting to show HUGE interest in math. he is working hard to add numbers, subtract them, skip count and count money. today we played farkle while waiting at the doctor's office. (side note: infection in his nose--impetigo perhaps, sinus congestion/infection, allergies) and he insisted on writing all of the scores and with my help, doing the addition! SO cute!

my boys

it's all about the dough

as suggested from a friend......

a new pizza dough to try
1 packet active dry yeast(2 1/4 tsp.) 1 cup warm water 105-115 1 t. honey 1 T extra-virgin olive oil 3 cups all purpose flour 1 t table salt.

Disolve the yeast in the water and add the honey. Let it stand for 2-3 minutes, or until the liquid begins to bubble. Add the olive oil and stir.

Add Flour and salt to the yeast mixture. I use my food processor and just add everything in there. you will mix it until the dough starts to ball up in the mixer and comes away from the side.. Turn the dough onto clean work surface and knead by hand. The dough should be smooth and elastic. When pressed it should slowly spring back and not feel tacky.

Transfer the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, turning once to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in a warm spot to rise 30-60 minutes. When ready, the dough will stretch when gently pulled

Then I roll the dough out on a floured surface you should have two 10-12 inch pizza crust. Put your toppings on them then bake 500 degrees until crust starts to brown
